We have seen this trick before. While it isn’t surprising, it certainly is entertaining!
Sunil Narine was a revelation opening the innings for Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2017. He finished the tournament with an incredible strike-rate of 173 – third highest in the season. He had scored 34 boundaries and 10 sixes, which includes devastating 15-ball fifty against Royal Challengers Bangalore at Eden Gardens.
In the 2018 IPL opener, the West Indies bowler has resumed from where he left off. Narine took a liking to RCB’s bowlers on Sunday. He attacked Yuzvendra Chahal and Washington Sundar – two of India’s best spinners without any hesitation. The 29-year-old hit his way to a second IPL half-century, bringing the landmark up in just 17 balls. His bat produced four boundaries and five maximums, before chopping on Umesh Yadav full-toss.
Narine’s blitz ensured KKR was always ahead of the required run-rate and they eventually chased down the 177-run target with 7 balls and six wickets to spare. Check out the highlights!
