This might be one of the craziest goals you’ll ever see!
The goal in question occurred during an A-League game between Newcastle Jets and Melbourne City FC on Friday night. Jets’ midfielder Riley McGree was on the receiving end of a 1-2 interplay with Venezuelan Ronald Vargas. The 19-year-old had to improvise, with the ball being behind him and over the waist. Eventually, he ended up lobbing it with a scorpion kick over the bewildered Melbourne City goalkeeper and in to the net!
Check it out!
The goal proved to be pivotal as Jets doubled their goal tally later on in the game to reach the A-League Grand final by overcoming the Melbourne outfit by 2-1.
Calls have been made for the teenager’s effort to be added to the 2018 FIFA’s Puskas Award shortlist!
