All-rounder Kieron Pollard led his side Barbados Tridents to a 21-run victory (D/L method) over St Lucia Stars with a quick-fire 83 in the Caribbean Premier League on Thursday.
Coming in to bat at #4 after losing Dwayne Smith and Shoaib Malik in consecutive deliveries, the 30-year-old took charge of the innings and went on to score his 36th T20 half-century – his fifth in 2017. The crowing moment of his knock was the punishment he dealt to Jerome Taylor, as he clobbered the 33-year-old for 28 runs in the final over!
Pollard finished with five boundaries and six maximums to his name, propelling his side to 196/4 at the end of the innings. Darren Sammy put in a valiant effort lower down the order for the Stars, with a 29-ball 60, but they fell short by 21 runs in the end by D/L method.
