Barcelona were beaten 3-0 by Italian giants Juventus in their UEFA Champions League quarter-final match in Italy, after a brace from Argentine sensation Paulo Dybala and a goal from defender Giorgio Chiellini sealed the match.
The defeat for Barcelona means that the Spanish giants will need to produce a performance like the one in their round-of-16 home tie against Paris Saint Germain, when they overturned a 4-0 deficit from the first leg to win the match 6-1, and the tie 6-5 on aggregate. However, it is not likely to be any easier against a solid Juventus defence.
Juventus went into half time with a 2-0 lead, with both goals coming from Dybala’s left foot. In the second half, Chiellini out-muscled Javier Mascherano to win a header from a corner, and sent the ball to the far right side of the goal to make it 3-0. The two sides next meet at the Nou Camp on April 20th to decide who goes through to the semi-finals of this year’s Champions League.
