Former New Zealand skipper Brendon McCullum was at his destructive best in Middlesex’s clash against Essex Eagles at the Lord’s Cricket Ground on Thursday (July 27).
The skipper, along with Eoin Morgan and John Simpson batted Essex out of the game, piling up a total of 203/6 and easing to a 72-run victory.
McCullum, who reached his half-century in just 19 balls, finished with 63 runs – 54 of which came in boundaries!

The England ODI and T20 captain added 39 from 30 balls, while wicketkeeper Simpson scored a half-century to get Middlesex past 200. Pace bowler Tom Helm ended hopes of a possible run-chase, notching up figures 5/11 and Essex were bowled out for just 131.
