The final part of our interview with Virender Sehwag is out, and Sehwag continues to be as entertaining as ever. Part I of the interview (where he talks about Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli and more) can be found HERE.
‘Maine spinners ko kabhi bowler samjha hi nahin’ – this one line from the interview sums up Sehwag’s attitude towards spin! In Sehwag’s opinion, spinners ‘run dene ke liye aate hain’, and never posed much of a threat because unlike fast bowlers, they couldn’t bowl bouncers either!
Sehwag also tells us a hilarious story about combating reverse-swing. His attitude was simple – wait for a spinner to bowl at the other end, and hit the ball out of the ground! The new ball wouldn’t reverse as easily – problem solved!
We then move on to Sehwag’s record against Pakistan. His record against Pakistan is exemplary – he averages over 90 against them. What motivated Sehwag to perform well against Pakistan? Watch on for more.
Finally, Sehwag talks about his mindset while batting. In short, Sehwag’s philosophy was ‘make the most of your time at the crease, and score as many runs as possible’. Fair to assume it worked pretty well for him!
The complete interview is up on our Youtube channel, and will be uploaded on Facebook shortly.
