The RAW Review – Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman make instant impact, James repays the favour to Bliss

Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns kicked things off on RAW

Seven Superstars have the opportunity to punch their ticket to WrestleMania this Sunday. The Elimination Chamber match is a daunting challenge; however, there is indeed gold on the other side of the rainbow. The winner of the Elimination Chamber match will face Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 34 for the Universal Championship.

So with just six days to go, the seven chosen ones had the chance to make one last impact before the big day. Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, John Cena, The Miz, Elias, Finn Balor and Braun Strowman all competed in a Gauntlet match this week, with the winner riding on the momentum to the Elimination Chamber.

Elsewhere, there is certainly an interesting bond that is taking shape between Alexa Bliss and Mickie James. Started as friends, then turned foes, James and Bliss seem to have each other’s back against Absolution. With the women’s Elimination Chamber match contested for the RAW Women’s Championship, will the friendship blossom? Or will the allure of championship make one Superstar turn on the other?

Last but not least, Nia Jax has been on a war path, to send Asuka a stern message before their bout this Sunday. So what will happen just days before two of the most dominant forces collide? The go – home show of Monday Night RAW did not disappoint.

Seth Rollins steals the show; Braun Strowman rides high into Elimination Chamber

This week’s episode of RAW began with a long, drawn out match. All the seven Superstars from the Elimination Chamber match were involved in a Gauntlet match, which started with Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns.

While Reigns said he was the only one capable to beat Lesnar, Rollins managed to defeat his brother – in – arms after a solid, long bout. Immediately afterwards, John Cena made his way out, facing Seth Rollins.

Rollins nursed his knee, and fought valiantly against Cena. The two went back and forth, but Seth was able to put Cena down with his finisher to pick up the win!

Elias then ran down, and attacked Rollins. The Drifted managed to drop Seth with the Drift Away to pick up the win, thus ending Rollins’ time in the match.

Finn Balor then faced Elias, and connected with the Coup de Grace to pick up the win. The Miz then ran down along with the Miztourage, and a distraction enabled Miz to pin Balor!

Finally, The Monster Among Men victimised Miz, and after toying with him, picked up the pin fall, and thus win the gauntlet. Post match, Braun said he would be the one to face – and defeat Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 34. Strowman then pummelled the Miztourage to end the segment.

Nia Jax sends a clear message to Asuka

Last week, Nia Jax attacked an unsuspecting Sasha Banks and Bayley, to send a message to Asuka. The Empress of Tomorrow and Nia will battle at Elimination Chamber, with Nia hellbent on handing Asuka her first defeat in the company.

Asuka came down to the ring to give an interview, but was interrupted mid – way by Jax. Nia took the fight to Asuka, and nailed her with three leg drops, leaving her in a heap to end the segment.

Titus Worldwide faced Sheamus and Cesaro in a tag team match, and Apollo picked up the win for his team with a roll – up.

Mickie James has Alexa Bliss’s back

In the main event, Mickie James, Sasha Banks and Bayley teamed up to face Alexa Bliss, Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville in a six woman tag team match. Bliss avoided facing James in the match, and let Deville and Rose do the dirty work. The faces tried to make their way back into the match, but Sonya and Rose stopped them in their heels.

As things broke down, Sasha led the fightback, and picked up the win thanks to the Bank Statement. However, Sonya and Mandy took out Bayley and Sasha, and targeted Alexa. However, Mickie came to Bliss’s aid, and Alexa and James dropped Sonya with a double DDT!

James and Bliss headed to the back together, leaving Rose and Sonya in the ring to end the show.
