The RAW Review – Roman Reigns takes out Strowman, Samoa Joe taunts Lesnar

In just under a week, we will witness two mammoths collide for the Universal Championship. At Great Balls of Fire, Brock Lesnar will face Samoa Joe in the main event of the PPV. On last week’s show, Joe nearly choked Lesnar out, sending a strong message to the champion. Also, Big Cass put the final nail in the coffin as far as his friendship with Enzo goes.

In last week’s main event, Sasha Banks earned the right to face Alexa Bliss for the RAW Women’s Championship. Sasha won the women’s gauntlet match, and will face Alexa at Great Balls of Fire. Last but not least, The Miz will defend the Intercontinental title come Sunday, as he takes on Dean Ambrose.

So what transpired on the go – home show? Let’s take a look.

Enzo Amore sends a message to his former brother

Enzo kicked things off on this week’s show. Amore made his way out, and cut an impassioned promo about Big Cass. Amore talked about what the two have been through in recent years, and ripped into Cass. Enzo recalled all the instances when he has been taken out, and said it all happened when he was with Cass.

Enzo sent a warning to Cass, and the big man responded with a promo backstage. Cass dismissed Enzo, and said he would leave him lying on the floor at Great Balls of Fire. Enzo then attacked Cass, as the referees stepped in to separate the two men. Enzo will face Big Cass this Sunday at Great Balls of Fire.

Bayley and Sasha Banks teamed up to face Alexa Bliss and Nia Jax. Sasha rallied to get the advantage, and locked Bliss in the Banks Statement, as Alexa tapped out to give Sasha the victory.

Samoa Joe goes on a man hunt

On last week’s edition of RAW, Samoa Joe sent a chilling message to the Universal Champion! While Lesnar was making his way out, Joe ambushed Lesnar, and put him in the Coquina Clutch. It took a herd of officials and Superstars to separate Samoa Joe from Brock, with Joe yelling at Lesnar that he was coming for him.

This week, both men sat down to talk about their upcoming bout. Joe and Lesnar then had a showdown via satellite, with the ‘Samoan Submission Machine’ not backing down from the beast. Samoa Joe mouthed off, telling Lesnar he was coming for him and the title this Sunday, at Great Balls of Fire.

Samoa Joe then took off his earpiece, and went hunting for The Beast Incarnate.

Cedric Alexander faced his old nemesis, Noam Dar. Fox tried to interfere, but that didn’t work. Cedric picked up the victory with the Lumbar Check.

The Miz tears into The Balls and Dean Ambrose

Last week on RAW, LaVar and his sons crashed MizTV, and had some unflattering words for the champion. This week on RAW, The Miz came out along with Maryse, Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel – the Miztourage. Miz ripped into LaVar and Lonzo, and talked smack about the Ballers. Miz then turned his attention to Dean Ambrose.

The ‘A – Lister’ laid into Ambrose, saying he wasted his potential. The Intercontinental Champion said Ambrose was supposed to be the breakout star of The Shield, but threw it all away. This led to Ambrose coming out, and Dean said he could come down to the ring and have the IC title match then and there.

However, Heath Slater made his way out along with Rhyno, as Heath talked about not getting a crack at a singles title. Miz told Dean that he would get his rematch whenever Miz wanted, and told Heath that he wasn’t getting a title shot. However, Kurt Angle made his way out, as Miz laid into Kurt.

Angle announced a title match at Great Balls of Fire between Miz and Ambrose, and made a title match between Slater and the champion on RAW!

The Miz defended the Intercontinental title against Slater. Slater nearly had the match won, but Axel and Dallas attacked Rhyno. This distraction led to Miz dropping Slater with the SCF to pick up the victory.

Post match, The Miztourage attacked Slater, but Dean ran down to make the save. However, he was then beaten down and laid out!

Goldust then came out, and talked about himself. He put himself over, while trashing R – Truth. Goldust then played a short film, where his attacks on R – Truth were shown. Truth then snuck into the ring, and attacked The Golden One! Goldust retreated as Truth stood tall to end the segment.

Seth Rollins sends a message to Bray Wyatt

Last week, Seth Rollins defeated Hawkins, but Bray Wyatt sent the former champion an ominous message. This week, Rollins and Hawkins faced each other in a rematch. Curt Hawkins made his way out, and talked down to the fans. He was interrupted by Seth, who meant business. Seth immediately decked Hawkins, and finished him with ease.

Rollins then took the microphone, and told Wyatt that he wasn’t a God. Rollins called Wyatt a coward, and made his way to the back.

Neville faced Mustafa Ali in a non title match. Neville defeated Ali with the Rings of Saturn submission hold.

Bray Wyatt’s vignette aired, with Wyatt roaming in the desert. Wyatt talked about chaos and destruction, and said Seth will realise his true power when they meet this Sunday.

Kurt Angle announced a 30 minute Iron Man match this Sunday between Cesaro and Sheamus, and The Hardy Boyz.

Finn Balor then faced Cesaro in a singles match. After some good back and forth action, Elias Samson tried to interfere. The Hardys then ran down, as Balor hit the Coup de Grace on Cesaro to pick up the victory.

Roman Reigns seeks retribution

Backstage, Braun Strowman demanded competition, and Titus O’Neil managed to get Apollo Crews a match with the Monster Among Men. Before the bout, Strowman talked about Reigns, and said he will put him in an Ambulance this Sunday at Great Balls of Fire.

Crews tried valiantly to put up a fight, but Strowman proved too powerful for Apollo. In the end, Strowman dropped Crews with a series of power slams to pick up the victory. O’Neil tried to push Strowman away from Apollo, but Strowman took him out as well!

Strowman shoved Apollo into an ambulance, but the driver didn’t pull away. It ended up being Roman Reigns, as he speared Strowman off the stage! Both men were laid out, as RAW came to an end.
