The RAW Review – Braun Strowman and The Big Show bring the house down

After the Superstar Shake Up last week, RAW is now home to 13 new talents. From the likes of David Otunga to the former SmackDown Women’s Champion, Alexa Bliss, multiple Superstars were drafted to RAW.

Among those 13 was the WWE Intercontinental Champion, Dean Ambrose. ‘The Lunatic Fringe’ makes his return to Monday nights, along with the ‘it’ couple, Miz and Maryse. With David Otunga set to star in a new film, WWE confirmed that Booker T would be replacing Otunga on RAW.

Meanwhile, Braun Strowman unleashed the beating of a lifetime on Reigns, mauling the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion. What did Braun do this week? Also, would Roman be able to compete any time soon after that savage beatdown?

Braun Strowman vows to continue his path of destruction

The monster among men, Braun Strowman made his way out to kick off the show. Strowman talked about laying waste to Reigns, and said he had a separated shoulder and broken ribs. The fans cheered Braun, as he vowed to continue his path of chaos and destruction. Strowman told the fans that Reigns wouldn’t be on the show, which received big cheers.

The General Manager of RAW, Kurt Angle then made his way out, and gave Strowman the night off. Angle then told Strowman that he would face Reigns at WWE Payback. Strowman got annoyed, and said he wasn’t done yet. Kurt got in Strowman’s face, but Braun backed down.

Samoa Joe sends a message to Seth Rollins

Couple of weeks ago, Kevin Owens and Samoa Joe viciously attacked Chris Jericho backstage. On this week’s episode, Jericho had the opportunity to get back at one of the two men. Jericho faced Samoa Joe in a non – title match, while Seth Rollins was on commentary.

After a good back and forth action, Samoe Joe trapped Jericho in the Coquina Clutch, and the US Champion eventually tapped out. Joe then directed his attention towards Rollins, and said their match at Payback would be personal. Joe held Rollins accountable for what happened to Stephanie at WrestleMania, and vowed to get his revenge.

Rollins told Joe that he would draw inspiration from Joe nearly ending his career. Both men stared each other down to end the segment.

Strowman attacked The Golden Truth backstage, who were supposed to face Anderson and Gallows. Enzo and Cass filled in for The Golden Truth, but Anderson and Gallows found a way to secure the victory.

The Miz rips into Dean Ambrose

The Miz and Maryse made their way out for the MizTV segment. Last week during the Superstar Shake Up, Ambrose, Miz and Maryse were drafted to RAW. Ambrose came out to interrupt Miz and Maryse, and attacked the ‘A – Lister’. On this week’s episode, the WWE Intercontinental Champion was the special guest on the MizTV segment.

The Miz ripped into how Ambrose looked, acted and talked, while Maryse called Ambrose a rat! Ambrose retaliated by saying that he did not care about the money, fame or accolades, and just wanted to fight. Miz called Ambrose lazy and complacent, and Ambrose attacked The Miz! Ambrose unleashed a flurry of rights, as Miz and Maryse escaped from his clutches.

T.J. Perkins took on Jack Gallagher, with Neville and Aries in their respective corners. During the bout, Neville laid Aries out, which distracted Jack. Perkins then connected with the Detonation Kick to pick up the victory.

New number one contender for the RAW Women’s Championship crowned

Last week, Alexa Bliss and Mickie James were drafted to Monday Night RAW. It was announced this week that a huge number one contender’s match would take place. Sasha Banks, Mickie James, Alexa Bliss and Nia Jax were involved in a fatal four way match, with the winner facing Bayley.

After some good back and forth exchange, it was Nia that got the upper hand. However, Bliss dropkicked Nia out of the ring to take advantage of her handwork, pinning Banks for the victory. Bliss will now face Bayley at WWE Payback for the RAW Women’s Championship.

Curt Hawkins made his way out, and threw out an open challenge for the RAW roster. Finn Balor answered the challenge, picked up the easy victory.

Cesaro faced Jeff Hardy, with Sheamus and Matt Hardy in their respective corners. After an excellent back and forth match, Jeff picked up the victory with the Swanton Bomb. Post match, Sheamus and Matt hesitantly shook each other’s hand.

Braun Strowman and The Big Show bring the house down

In the main event, Braun Strowman faced The Big Show. Both the behemoths went back and forth before Strowman gained the advantage. Braun tossed Show around with ease, and during the final moments, took Show to the top rope.

Braun and Big Show came crashing down with a Superplex, resulting in the ring caving! The ring collapsed, as the referee was thrown down to the arena floor! Strowman then got up, and let out a war cry, as RAW went off the air!
