After being subjected to a rude wake up call at Pune, the Indian team would be keen to make amends at the captain’s home turf on Friday. The second T20I between India and Sri Lanka promises to be a very interesting affair after what was witnessed in the last game. The young Sri Lankan pace attack rattled the famed Indian batting line up and based on what we saw in the first game, they possess the talent to repeat the act. That said, India will still enter this contest as favourites and it will be interesting to see how they bounce back.

India: Captain M.S.Dhoni said that the big positive from the last game was that even the lower order got a chance to bat before the T20 World Cup, but he wouldn’t want a repeat of that in his home town on Friday. The side looks strong despite the batting collapse at Pune and the same XI will probably take the field. It is essential from India’s point of view for Rahane, Yuvraj and Dhoni to get some runs under their belt before the World T20. Pandya and Jadeja as well will need to start settling down into their lower order roles of finishing games. The bowlers did a pretty decent job at Pune taking the game to the 18th over and Bumrah has been an absolute delight to watch for all Indian fast bowling fans.

Probable XI: 1.R.Sharma, 2.S.Dhawan, 3.A.Rahane, 4.S.Raina, 5.Y.Singh, 6.M.S.Dhoni(C&WK), 7.H.Pandya, 8.R.Jadeja, 9.R.Ashwin, 10.A.Nehra, 11.J.Bumrah

Sri Lanka: The young Sri Lankan side played fearless cricket at Pune where their young pacers K.Rajitha and D.Shanaka rocked the Indian batting line up. The green top at Pune did assist them, but the talented young bowlers used their skills effectively and put in a very impressive performance. Captain Chandimal will hope for another good performance from his men to seal the series at Ranchi but it won’t be that easy. The Sri Lankan batting showed signs of inexperience as they almost made a mess of the run chase at Pune. Dilshan should ideally be back for this game to lend stability to their batting which is the only area of concern for the visitors.

Probable XI: 1.T.Dilshan, 2.M.Gunathilaka, 3.D.Chandimal(C&WK), 4.C.Kapugedera, 5.M.Siriwardana, 6.D.Shanaka, 7.S.Prasanna 8.T.Perera, 9.S.Sennanayake, 10.D.Chameera, 11.K.Rajitha

Venue & Conditions: The JSCA Stadium at Ranchi will host its first ever T20I on Friday. The weather forecast looks clear and the stadium has worked around the clock to get itself match ready after this game was shifted here from the Kotla in Delhi. The wicket at Ranchi has traditionally favoured quicker bowlers early on and if that is the case, the team that wins the toss will look to bowl first. The side batting first should look to score at least 150.
