Brazilian superstar Neymar was given permission by his manager Ernesto Valverde to “sort out his future” on Wednesday, as he was absent from the team’s training session. Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint Germain have been favourites to sign him all summer, and it looks like the move could finally be happening, as a report by the BBC stated that he has told his Barcelona teammates about his desire to leave the club.

The fee for Neymar’s transfer is 198 million pounds (222 million euros), which is the Brazilian’s release clause inserted by Barcelona in his contract. However, La Liga president Javier Tebas has warned that there could be consequences for PSG if they were to go through with the 25 year old’s transfer, stating that there would be a legal response against them for flouting financial fair play regulations. PSG, though, remain quietly confident that they are well within the regulations while striking out a deal for Neymar.
Neymar moved to Barcelona from Brazilian club Santos in 2013 for 48.6million pounds, and signed a new five-year deal with the 24-time Spanish champions in 2016. He has scored 105 goals for the Catalan club, helping them win two La Liga titles, three Copa del Reys and one UEFA Champions League title.
