Mitchell Starc ruled out of IPL 2018 with stress fracture

Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc has been ruled out of the final Test against South Africa and the upcoming 2018 Indian Premier League due to injury.

The 28-year-old was diagnosed with a tibial bone stress fracture in his right leg before the Johannesburg Test.


He has been replaced by Chadd Sayers in the playing XI for the final Test and will fly home post the series for further injury investigation and assessment.

Mitchell Starc was sold to Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs. 9.4 Cr after he was released by Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2017. This will be the third consecutive season Starc is missing out on the IPL after pulling out last year and missing due to injury in 2016.
