After 21 years of being in charge of Arsenal, Arsene Wenger will be stepping down from his position of manager.
The Frenchman has racked up some phenomenal numbers over the past two decades for the London club – 1,228 games, 7 FA Cups, 7 Community Shields, 3 Premier Leagues – which included the ‘Invincible’ season in 2003/04!
Here’s how ex-players, journalists and many more have reacted:

Arsene Wenger is to leave @Arsenal at the end of the season. He has given much of his life to Arsenal. He has brought much success to the club. He has given much to the game of football in our country. Merci et bonne chance, Monsieur Wenger. #Wenger

Arsene Wenger built the best teams that I played against in English Football .The 98 team was Amazing. The biggest compliment is that he played football that made us change the way we played against them. He now deserves the most incredible send off from all in the coming weeks.

The job ultimately required (a lot of) criticism of Wenger, but there was never any better manager to talk to, because of the depth he went to. Like him a lot. Hope he now wins the European trophy that always eluded him.

Right call by Arsene Wenger to step down, but hopefully he’ll leave with a Europa League win that puts Arsenal back in the Champions League.

The indications have been pointing to him going this summer. The speed of the announcement surprised me because it’s not something Wenger would normally want.

My favourite Arsene Wenger quote:
"I believe the target of anything in life should be to do it so well that it becomes an art."
For a decade, he did that.
