However, Daniel Bryan has since revealed that he had visited multiple doctors, who have told him that he could compete once again. But with WWE standing their ground regarding their decision to not let Bryan compete again, he has left the door open to return to the independent promotions. The fact that Daniel Bryan’s WWE contract is set to expire later this year has further added fuel to the fire, and Daniel has already expressed his interest in wrestling Cody Rhodes.
There has been a new development in recent hours, as first reported by WrestlingNewsWorld, with WWE offering Bryan a contract extension. According to the report, the new contract would see Daniel Bryan earning in the same ball – park as a main – eventer in WWE, but he wouldn’t be allowed to wrestle! Bryan reportedly turned down the offer, and is eyeing a return to the independents later this year.
It is also being speculated that WWE has already admitted defeat in their persuasion of Bryan to agree to a new contract. Bryan is in the midst of an on – screen rivalry with Shane McMahon, and the company wants to turn him heel, so that they could prepare the groundwork for his exit.
