No Mercy is behind us, and the focus now shifts to the Hell In A Cell PPV. RAW’s exclusive PPV provided some interesting moments, albeit not all of them were well received by the fans. However, there were some major developments this week, giving us an insight about the immediate future of a couple of Superstars.
Jeff Hardy injures his shoulder, scheduled to undergo surgery
Last week on RAW, Jeff Hardy was involved in the Six Pack Challenge, and was involved in a spot where he fell awkwardly on his shoulder. Jeff immediately started favouring his shoulder, and was seen in some discomfort.
While reports have since suggested that the former WWE Champion has been injured, WWE.com officially confirmed that Jeff had suffered a torn labrum and torn rotator cuff. The Charismatic Enigma will be undergoing surgery to repair his shoulder on October 3rd, and is expected to sit out for a considerable period.
Matt Hardy took to Twitter, to comment on Jeff’s injury. The former ECW Champion also teased the return of “Broken Matt”, saying Jeff’s injury opens doors for yet another singles run for him in the company.
Asuka to make her main roster debut at TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs
The former NXT Women’s Champion had to surrender the title due to an injury. Asuka injured her collarbone during her match with Ember Moon at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn III. The former NXT Women’s Champion held the title for a record 510 days, becoming the longest reigning women’s champion in WWE history!
While Kurt Angle announced couple of weeks ago that he had signed Asuka, bringing her to RAW, an exact timetable for her return wasn’t mentioned. At No Mercy however, WWE revealed that Asuka would make her RAW debut at the next RAW exclusive PPV, TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs.
The RAW creative team hasn’t zeroed in on an opponent for Asuka, but that will be confirmed in the next few weeks.
Maria Kanellis reveals that she is pregnant
Mike and Maria haven’t exactly gotten off to the best of starts in WWE. While the duo came in with a head of steam, Mike Bennett has been off television due to some personal issues. Mike has since checked himself into rehab, and has been doing much better.
Maria recently took to social media, to announce that she is pregnant! The first lady of professional wrestling will likely take the year off, and it remains to be seen what Mike will do on WWE TV.
