Irfan Pathan on the famous hat-trick against Pakistan, the 2007 T20 World Cup final, and the 2008 Perth Test

Irfan Pathan has put in match-winning performances in some of India’s most memorable victories – including the 2007 T20 World Cup final, and the infamous 2008 Perth Test. We asked him about some of the highlight-reel moments from his career – and yes, the famous hat-trick against Pakistan is included!

We start off with the T20 World Cup final. Watch Pathan talk about the win, and how he planned to get Afridi out with a bouncer – slower ball combination!

The 2008 Perth Test is one of India’s most memorable overseas wins – due to the nature of the pitch, as well as the controversy surrounding the 2008 Border – Gavaskar Trophy in general. Pathan provided crucial contributions with both bat and ball, and was the man of the match in one of India’s greatest wins.

Finally, we had to ask him about the hat-trick against Pakistan! Watch Pathan describe the entire hat-trick, as well as his game-planning behind every wicket that he took. Fascinating stuff.
