IPL 2018 Eliminator, Qualifier 2 moved from Pune to Kolkata

The IPL 2018 Eliminator and Qualifier 2 has been moved from Pune to Kolkata, IPL Chairman Rajiv Shukla confirmed on Friday (May 4).

The Chairman also confirmed on Friday that no changes have been made to original plans of Mumbai hosting Qualifier 1 and the final on Friday.

The Qualifier and Eliminator matches are held at the home venue of the previous season’s runners-up. For the 2018 season, MCA Stadium, home ground of Rising Pune Supergiant, was scheduled to host two playoffs. Due to rescheduling of six Chennai Super Kings home games due to protests, player safety and threats to disrupt further games has resulted in the change.

“We are happy to host the play-off matches and are looking forward to it,” Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) joint-secretary Avishek Dalmiya was quoted as saying by PTI.

Eliminator and Qualifier 2 will now be played on May 23 and May 25 respectively at Eden Gardens and Wankhede Stadium will host Qualifier 1 and the final on May 22 and 27 respectively.
