IPL Fantasy Guide: KXIP vs DD

Two teams that have promised big things on paper across different seasons in the past, will take on each other in the second match of the IPL on Sunday. Kings XI Punjab will host Delhi Daredevils at the PCA Stadium in Mohali – and both sides will have new captains and new-look squads.

If you are a fantasy IPL enthusiast and are confused on which players to pick in your teams ahead of this game, don’t worry – we’ve got you covered:

Kings XI Punjab:

With Ravichandran Ashwin in-charge of things at KXIP, they will look to turn around their fortunes and try to go all the way this year. A good start is essential to that, which is what KXIP will be looking to achieve against Delhi. Their squad boasts of some very experienced T20 cricketers along with some promising Indian youngsters. In the absence of Aaron Finch in the first game, Chris Gayle might get the nod and he’ll have a point to prove. The onus of the team will be on the Indian batting contingent of Yuvraj Singh, KL Rahul, Karun Nair and Mayank Agarwal.

Probable XI: Mayank Agarwal, Chris Gayle, KL Rahul (WK), Karun Nair, Yuvraj Singh, David Miller, Marcus Stoinis, Axar Patel, Ravichandran Ashwin (C), Mohit Sharma, Andrew Tye

Key Fantasy Picks: KL Rahul and Andrew Tye will be vital players in KXIP’s opening game against DD and should be the key picks in your fantasy squads.

Delhi Daredevils:

This season for Delhi marks the return of their old captain Gautam Gambhir who over the past few years had become synonymous with Kolkata Knight Riders. With young Indian talent forming an important part of their squad, DD will hope for the likes of Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer and Vijay Shankar to come good for them. DD’s bowling attack looks like one of the strongest in the IPL with Chris Morris, Mohammed Shami and Trent Boult to bowl pace while Amit Mishra and Shahbaz Nadeem will lead their spin attack.

Probable XI: Gautam Gambhir (C), Colin Munro, Jason Roy, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant (WK), Vijay Shankar, Chris Morris, Trent Boult, Amit Mishra, Mohammed Shami, Shahbaz Nadeem

Key Fantasy Picks: Colin Munro and Chris Morris are likely to be the key picks for your fantasy squads with their ability to single handedly win games for the side.
