One of the best things going in the WWE today, is the storyline involving Braun Strowman. Not only is Strowman delivering in the mixed tag team competition – a competition from which Braun and Bliss got eliminated last week, but his status for WrestleMania 34 is one of the most intriguing angles WWE has come up with in the recent past.
Five possible partners for Braun Strowman
Strowman has laid waste to so many Superstars, that anyone could be his tag team partner at WrestleMania. In fact, Braun proved that he could single handedly destroy the tag team champions – and the rest of the tag team division, but would need another Superstar to be eligible to take part in the tag team match.
With the mega event just days away, we take a look at the five possible partners for Braun Strowman at WrestleMania 34.
#5 Samoa Joe
The Samoan Submission Machine is expected to be back any day now, but isn’t featured on the WrestleMania card. Joe hurt his foot few weeks ago, and while it was reported to be a minor injury, WWE has conspicuously kept him off WWE programming, which could point towards a surprise return at WrestleMania 34.
The team of Strowman and Joe would make for one scary partnership, and given the fact that Samoa Joe was involved in the title picture not too long ago, it would make sense to pair them together.
#4 Bray Wyatt
If there is one Superstar in the WWE that is in desperate need of some good luck – and good booking, it is Bray Wyatt. The Eater of Worlds hasn’t had the best couple of years, and has been lingering in the depths of the mid card, waiting for his next opponent – and next loss.
Wyatt, as a character, was killed during the Ultimate Deletion episode, where Bray was drowned in the Lake of Reincarnation. WWE reportedly has been toying with the idea of a new character for Wyatt, and that could be unveiled at WrestleMania 34!
Bray is talented, and deserves a push in the company. His WWE Championship reign amounted to nothing, but with Strowman, he could either form a formidable team, or the duo can play off each other, similar to Bryan and Kane couple of years ago.
#3 ‘Woken’ Matt Hardy
The other possibility would be to pair Braun with ‘Woken’ Matt Hardy. The feud between Wyatt and Matt finally ended last week, and with the Hardys not having anything of substance at WrestleMania, Matt can team up with Strowman to face Cesaro and Sheamus.
With Jeff’s recent trouble with law, one would imagine that ‘Brother Nero’ won’t take any part in the WrestleMania festivities. Saying that, the team of Strowman and a deranged Matt Hardy would be fun to watch.
#2 Rey Mysterio
The master of 619 was reportedly in talks with WWE for a return with a lighter schedule post the Royal Rumble, but those talks have since died down. Rey appeared at New Japan’s ‘Strong Style Evolved’ event, and was pulled from competing due to a biceps injury.
However, we’ve seen in the past that the company – and the Superstars, could sometimes pretend to be injured just to surprise everyone at a major event. Chris Jericho has been a master of such stunts, and Mysterio could simply have taken a page out of his playbook.
Saying that, a Mysterio – Strowman team would undoubtedly make for hilarious TV, and if Braun’s dynamic with a puny Bliss is anything to go by, their teaming up would make for great programming.
Strowman, so far, hasn’t walked with Elias, but has certainly beaten the Elvis out of him! The rivalry between the two saw the Superstars hitting each other with everything – including a monstrous Cello and a piano!
Elias has improved immensely over the past 12 months, and it would be interesting if Strowman picks Elias as his tag team partner. As we’ve seen before, former enemies often make good tag team partners, and both the Superstars can pry the tag team titles away from Sheamus and Cesar at WrestleMania!
Incidentally, that would also be both of their first major titles in the company.
