FIFA U-17 World Cup tournament director Javier Ceppi disclosed that a 60% discount will be offered to people buying the minimum priced tickets in block for all the FIFA U-17 World Cup matches at any of the six venues.
Speaking at a media conference in Kolkata, Ceppi also revealed that the tickets for the final in Kolkata on October 28 can be bought for as low as Rs 48.
Tickets for the whole set of matches in Kolkata (10 matches including the final) can be bought for Rs. 480. While these will be Category 1 tickets, tickets in Category 2 and 3 can be bought for Rs 960 and 1920 respectively.
A limited number of tickets will initially go on sale from 7:11 pm Tuesday, May 16 on the fifa.com website. These tickets will be block tickets, and will be available till July 7 when the draw for the teams is made. Post July 7, tickets for individual matches will be available with an initial 25% discount, with tickets also available at the counters of venues closer to the tournament.
World Cup winner and Barcelona legend Carles Puyol will be in New Delhi on Monday, May 15 to hand over the first ticket to a family member of Shibdas Bhaduri, who captained the 1911 Mohun Bagan team which became the first Indian team to win the IFA Shield. He is also scheduled to be a part of the pre-match IPL show on May 17.
The U-17 World Cup will be the first FIFA tournament to be hosted by India, and matches will be held from October 6 to October 28 across 6 cities – Kolkata, Navi Mumbai, New Delhi, Guwahati, Kochi and Panaji.
