Date: 14th May 2016
Match #45: KKR v RPS (8pm IST)
Venue/Conditions: The Eden Gardens, traditionally a ground favouring the spinners, has been a happy hunting ground for the quicks this season. There is no prediction of any rain around.
Kolkata Knight Riders: KKR have had a pretty good season so far and will want to seal their playoffs berth tonight. Sunil Narine is likely to come in for Hogg after a break due to injury. Manish Pandey needs to start scoring some runs. Umesh Yadav’s form is a big concern as well.
Probable XI: Gambhir(C), Uthappa(WK), Pandey, Shakib, Y Pathan, Russell, S Yadav, Chawla, Narine, M Morkel, U Yadav
Rising Pune Supergiants: This will be the first time an MS Dhoni-led side won’t feature in the semi-finals/playoffs. Given that they won’t make it to the next round, RPS will want to try out their bench strength which means we finally might have Irfan Pathan playing! Baba Aparajith, Albie Morkel and Ishwar Pandey are strong contenders to feature in the XI as well.
Probable XI: Rahane, Khawaja, Tiwary, Bailey, Dhoni(C)(WK), Perera/A Morkel, Bhatia/Aparajith, I Pathan, R Ashwin, Zampa, I Pandey/Dinda
Players to watch out for (Captain material for your teams):
Kolkata Knight Riders: Shakib scored a big one last game and his 4 overs will be crucial for KKR, particularly since Gambhir likes to use him just after the first six overs.
Rising Pune Supergiants: Usman Khawaja is yet to leave his mark on the IPL as he did in the Big Bash last season, and Dhoni will hope he does that for RPS to end on a high.
