While the Kolkata Test provided a few positives, it did not pan out the same way for Sri Lanka in the second Test in Nagpur. India hammered the visitors by an innings and 239 runs at Jamtha and took an unassailable 1-0 lead in the series.
After Virat Kohli’s double hundred, Rohit Sharma, Chesteshwar Pujara and Murali Vijay’s centuries in India’s first innings, Dinesh Chandimal’s side were bowled out for just 166 in the second innings, with all four bowler amongst the wickets. Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja, after going wicketless in the first Test, picked up 13 wickets in the Test, Ishant Sharma, who was picked in the absence of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, produced an impressive spell with the new ball in the final session of Day 3 and finished with five wickets in the game.
Here are some of the reactions after India comfortably secured the Nagpur Test:

32 wins for India in 2017 – Most they have won in a year going past the 31 wins they had in 2016. Next target is Australia's record of 38 wins in 2003. 7 more matches to go. #IndVSL

If the opposition is not challenging enough, you annihilate them. That’s exactly what India has done here. Lost the toss. Bossed the game. #IndvSL

Back in the 1980s the fledgling Sri Lankan team was the easybeats of world cricket. Fast forward three decades to their heaviest Test defeat ever
