Last week on RAW, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins teamed up with Jason Jordan. The trio faced the team of The Bar and Samoa Joe, and with the Royal Rumble coming up, the Superstars couldn’t afford getting injured.
However, The Lunatic Fringe found himself in the firing line, as Seth Rollins executed a suicide dive on the outside. While it is a relatively safe move to execute – and to take, Ambrose immediately clutched his arm, and was visibly in agony.
The WWE medics immediately tended to Dean, with the other Superstars continuing the match. WWE later confirmed that Ambrose had suffered a severe injury, which later turned out to be a high – grade triceps tendon injury. WWE also released a statement, saying Ambrose would have to undergo surgery.
Dean Ambrose sidelined for nine months
— WWE (@WWE) December 26, 2017
During this week’s edition of RAW, WWE officially announced that Ambrose will be out of action for around nine months. This would imply that Ambrose will not compete at WrestleMania 34, and will miss most of 2018 due to the injury.
The former WWE Intercontinental Champion is expected to return around SummerSlam 2018. Seth Rollins teamed up with Jason Jordan this week, as the duo defeated The Bar to become the new RAW Tag Team Champions!
Fatal Five Way reportedly planned for WWE Fastlane
On the SmackDown Live side of things, the WWE Champion, AJ Styles still doesn’t have an opponent for the Royal Rumble. However, the Nationwide Arena – venue for WWE Fastlane on March 11th might’ve given out the spoilers months before the PPV!
Their official website advertised AJ Styles walking in as still the WWE Champion, and announced a Fatal Five Way match, with Shinsuke Nakamura, Randy Orton, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn challenging AJ for the title!
While the plans can change at any moment, the unfortunate mistake has riled up the fans! We will have to wait and see how the main event scene unfolds heading into 2018.
