As seen on last week’s episode of RAW, Braun Strowman was written out of WWE storylines. Roman Reigns viciously assaulted Strowman, injured his elbow with repeated chair shots. It was then reported that Strowman would be out of action for at least four to eight weeks to undergo a minor surgery.
However, it was revealed merely hours before RAW that the injury could be more serious than earlier expected. WWE.com then released a detailed statement regarding Braun’s injury, and his lay – off period.
Braun Strowman underwent surgery following the attack by Roman Reigns last Monday on Raw, WWE.com can now confirm.
Immediately after the assault on Strowman’s injured shoulder and elbow by the former WWE Champion, The Monster Among Men left Raw in an ambulance and was able to get back to the United States for an evaluation this past Wednesday. Following the medical consultation, Strowman underwent surgery on Thursday in Birmingham, Ala. with Dr. Jeffrey Dugas. During the procedure, it was revealed, among his other injuries, that Strowman’s elbow had been shattered, and he is expected to miss up to six months of action as a result.
On this week’s episode of RAW, Kurt Angle talked about Braun’s injury. Kurt revealed that Strowman is expected to be out of action for six months. While it was earlier reported that Braun could be back by WWE Great Balls of Fire, or worse, SummerSlam, this would mean that Strowman wouldn’t return before Survivor Series.
Roman Reigns then took credit for injuring Monster among men. With WWE planning a Reigns – Lesnar match at WrestleMania, Reigns might not face Brock at Great Balls of Fire.
Kurt went on to announce a fatal five way at Extreme Rules, to crown the new number one contender. The winner will go on to face Brock Lesnar at WWE Great Balls of Fire, for the Universal title. (More on that in our RAW Review)
