This past week on RAW, Bayley faced Nia Jax in a singles match. During the bout, the former RAW Women’s Champion appeared to have injured her shoulder while taking a bump, and although it was initially thought to be Bayley selling the injury, WWE put out a statement, confirming the worst case scenario.
The number one contender injured her shoulder when she fell to the mat after a shoulder block by Nia, which is a freak accident. “Everyone’s favourite hugger” managed to finish the bout, but WWE’s medical personnel examined her injury post match, and revealed that there was considerable swelling on her right shoulder.
Bayley won the right to face Alexa Bliss for the RAW Women’s Championship at SummerSlam, and those plans could change.

Bayley suffers a shoulder injury Monday night on Raw
During her match with Nia Jax on the July 31 edition of Raw, Bayley suffered an injury to her right shoulder.
The former Raw Women’s Champion was evaluated by medical personnel, but the official diagnosis was inconclusive due to the amount of swelling involved. Bayley has been told to rest the shoulder until next week, at which point doctors are hopeful that the swelling will have sufficiently gone down so that she may be reevaluated and a firm verdict can be reached.
“Everything just tensed up around it,” Bayley told WWE.com shortly after her match on Monday night. “I’ve never had an injury like this before, so I can’t really know what it is. I guess we’re gonna see.”
Dr. Chris Amann told WWE.com, “We’ve determined the injury is shoulder-related, and she will be going under further diagnostic testing later this week to determine the extent of the injury and also establish a timetable for recovery.”

The WWE Superstars have since taken to Twitter to send their condolences and support to Bayley. It now remains to be seen how bad the injury is, and what the diagnosis would be.
However, it is almost a certainty that WWE would book a different match at SummerSlam for the RAW Women’s Championship.
